We offer individual sessions, as well as sessions for couples, groups, and families, along with a variety of specialised assessments. Schedule an initial consultation, and we will connect you with the services and support that best fit your unique needs.
Who needs Counselling?
We all go through stressful times, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming. No matter how hard we try, we may struggle to cope and feel depressed and anxious. Your doctor may have prescribed medication, and a combination of medication and counselling often works very well.
How can Psychotherapy help you?
A trained therapist helps you gain perspective on troubling issues. Together, we explore the causes of your problems, understand why and how they persist, and identify what might be preventing you from reaching your full potential. Finally, we determine the steps needed to create positive change. Counselling can help you with the following issues:
Abuse
Anxiety, Depression and Stress
Addictions and eating disorders
Bereavement
Relationship and family issues
Low self-esteem
OCD
Assertiveness
Work related problems

FAQ
-
Your therapy duration depends on your needs and goals. Short-term therapy, typically around 3 months, targets specific issues. For more profound change, longer-term therapy, lasting 6 to 12 months, is recommended. Many clients extend their therapy beyond the initial time frame as new concerns arise and they continue to find benefit from ongoing sessions.
-
It can be helpful to have an idea of what you hope to achieve in therapy, but it is also okay if you are uncertain. Many people seek therapy precisely because they lack clarity. Just taking the step to see your psychologist is significant.
-
You are encouraged to express yourself freely during sessions. It is normal to discuss unexpected thoughts or difficult emotions, and facing them may initially feel challenging. Your counsellor will provide support throughout the process, offering a confidential setting to address your concerns and facilitate your progress.
-
Therapy provides a confidential space where everything discussed remains private. However, if your psychologist believes there is a risk to yourself or others, they may need to involve other professionals in your care, such as your GP.
-
A single session will last 60 minutes. The number of sessions required varies depending on individual circumstances and the issues presented. Your counsellor may provide an estimate during the assessment session and discuss this further during your initial appointment.
